Tarek is a professor of Computer Science at the University of Virginia. He Graduated with his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Michigan in 1999. Tarek and I met on the internet in 1996 and became a couple in March of 1997. Being from different cultures (he’s from Cairo, Egypt) we had our ups and downs over our two year long distance relationship, but we made it through and have now been married since 1999.
We travel a lot for his job and have been many places around the world but Charlottesville is our home. However, anyplace Tarek is would be home to me.
