1804 WEDDING. The wedding (of Monsieur C. Bredero and Mademoiselle C. Tollenaar) was held in Schiedam on 11 September 1804. Several name cards have been preserved. Because the name cards are numbered, we can estimate that twenty-four people attended the banquet.
The lowest numbers are associated with the hosts or patriarchs, Adriaan Bredero (1731-1807) and Dionysius Bredero (1752-1813).

Adriaan Brederos card: barrels and a crown

Dionysius Brederos card: Bible, incense burner, sundial(?), lamb with cross
Presumably, the cards indicate that Adriaan was a distillery king and that Dionysius was a minister.
Among the younger guests at the banquet were an unmarried Frans van Leeuwen (1783-1843) and his sister, Maria Jacoba Veth-van Leeuwen. His card indicates an association with music. Later, he would run a distillery.

Frans van Leeuwen (1783-1843)
All of the men discussed above are ancestors of Frans van Leeuwen (1834-1904).

Frans van Leeuwens card: a violin

Maria Jacoba Veth: Frans married sister

The grooms card: all were illustrated and colored.
