Kaposvar Outreach

During the students’ outreach week, our family decided to join the CCBCE student team headed to Kaposvar, Hungary (where Jason lived for 2 years).  Outreaches ranged from street evangelism and sports outreaches, to puppet shows in local parks and senior citizen homes.  The warm welcome by the missionaries in Kaposvar and the united CCBCE team made for a powerful and fruitful outreach.  Jason had the opportunity to use his Hungarian constantly while sharing, and God managed to always bring the English speaking Hungarians my way (thankfully!).  God really blessed the students with extra courage and wisdom while sharing about His love and salvation with all sorts of people.  Praise Him for the work He did!

Reaching Out to Polish English Teachers

Your prayers, suggestions, supplies, and support made such a difference with this outreach! 24 teachers came to the event. I found that number incredible because most teachers in Poland also work nights at private English schools, which means these teachers had to find a way to cover their classes or lose pay in order to come. Three teachers indicated they accepted Christ that night, but I think the work God did extends FAR beyond any numbers or verbal commitments. The teachers were truly touched by the event, many which had tears in their eyes at the end. Rose and I opened the night with 45 minutes of teaching on getting kids to speak more in the classroom. Then there was a dinner break with music, and lastly an evangelist from the Luis Palou Assoc. shared the gospel.  It was that time spent talking to the teachers at dinner that had the greatest impact, and that was my prayer. Rose and I both had the opportunity to share the gospel with them. Most of the Polish are Catholic, but the majority do not have a saving knowledge of Christ in their hearts....it's just a "religion" to them without personal connections.  One friend, Ildi, said, "Truly you could feel God in that place." I think that sums up all of our thoughts!

Another Semester Ends…

It’s that time of year when the leaves are off the trees, there’s a chill in the air, and the Vajta campus gets very quiet.  The graduation ceremony is on Dec. 12th with the students leaving around the 15th of December. It’s hard to believe that the semester has already come to an end!  Jason, Elea, and I will be heading to California during Christmas vacation to visit with family and friends, and also to attend the Missions Conference in Murrieta.  Please pray for safe travels, good health during our trip, and that it would be a sweet time of refreshment for us.  We’re also hoping to plan an Open House on January 7th to visit with you.  Please email us if you’re interested in attending and would like the details.

Prayer & Praise

·         Praise God for the work that He did during all this semester’s outreaches. We constantly hear stories of both the young and old coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the faithfulness of the students here to share God’s Word with others.  Please pray specifically for Monika—a mom I met at a local park—that she would be open to other missionaries meeting with her and receptive of the Gospel message.

·         Already we’re praying about doing another English teacher outreach in February to be held in Radom, so be praying for us and the Poland team on that one (and whether Rose and/or I should be involved with this one or not).

·         Pray that as the students go home for Christmas (or for a new adventure) that they would continue to share the love of God with others.

·         Pray for safe travels as we depart for California on December 18th.  Lord willing, we’ll be at Missions Awareness Day at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa on Jan. 6th (9am-12pm), so please stop by the Hungary booth and say ‘hello’!
