Yesterday was our kickoff meeting and I am so psyched. Thanks to Chris hart
and Marta Pringle's participation this past month in their first marathon, I've decided to participate in the San Diego Rock
N Roll marathon on June 5, 2005, and the Anchorage Mayor's Midnight Sun Half Marathon on June 18, 2005. Not only does
this mean I will be working really hard to train but I also have to raise double the funds to participate in this worthy cause.
I know, I know...you're thinking WHAT?!?!? Angi's participating in a marathon?!?!
Well, as you know I love to volunteer for a good cause. marta and Chris were so excited throughout their experience,
I just had to see for myself. But above all else, to do something for those we've lost, as well as those who have survived...our
grandmothers, grandfathers, parents, children, friends, in-laws and everyone else who may be close to us.
I have to get going. I'm off to meet Chris to train. He's not running
again until next year, but he's continuing to train so he's in top shape for it and is going to help me when I'm not with
my coaches and the rest of my team.

Well, Chris and I did 4 miles that day. I did another mile on Monday, 3 miles
on Wednesday, and met with my team this morning for another 3. I'm getting a lot of good advice on my training and it's
working. Thank you to all who are supporting me.

Well, I only was able to do a few miles this week-3 on Thursday, and I did 5 today
with the team. It's going well, though. I'm learning alot about my body and there are just some things that you
have to take in strides...Anyway, I'm off to a good start and I feel really good so I'll let you know how this next week goes.
February 24, 2005
Well, I was able to do 4 miles Tuesday and Thursday last week. Austin and Aleigh
are walking with me now also to keep me motivated. I did 5.5 miles Saturday, another 4 miles Tuesday and almost
3 miles today. Sorry for being late on my update. This juggling around of my schedule is taking a little
to get used to.
March 5, 2005
This past week started off slow, but I was able to get in 2.5
miles Tuesday, 5 Thursday and 9 this morning. I got my new shoes this past Monday and it has been such a godsend (THANK
YOU, PATTI!!!). I'm not nearly as sore as I would be if I had worn my other shoes.
March 14, 2005
The weather here was really crappy this past week and I had
started walking after work for a change of scenery. However, that didn't work out to my advantage. I was able
to get in the 11.3 miles this weekend with my team though. I was also able to do another 2 miles this morning.
This weekend our team is scheduled to do the distance of a half marathon of 13.1 miles. Wish us luck!!!
April 4, 2005
Well, that 13.1 miles was tough, and without the encouragement
of my son, Austin, I might not have finished. It was really hard. I know I can get through Anchorage though.
Too bad, San Diego is first. :D
I did another 5 on Thursday and this weekend, I didn't do any
formal training but I got in a little over 5 miles. This week will be back to getting the higher miles in.
As a side note, I am really running short on my deadlines, so
please use the green envelopes I provided you and return them with your show of support. I'll catch up with you soon!
Thank you!!

It's been a while since I've updated the website. I'm
sorry. It seems that I had some medical issues that wouldn't wait and I had to go in for emergency surgery. I've
just returned back to work full-time this week and I have a lot to make up. As for the marathons...well, I am unable
to participate this season. However, I am going to start training for Dublin in a week. So, for all of you that
have been keeping up with me, it was not for nothing. I am determined to do this. There are so many reasons, but
mainly for those I started this for. Thank you for all of your support and I will be crossing that finish line, for
them and you! (just a little later than I hoped.)
June 8, 2005
It seems that I have to take a longer break than I had hoped.
I ended up back in the hospital and it seems that I need to take it easy for a few months so my participation in a marathon
is being put off a little longer. I will keep you posted as I find out more. I will be going in for more testing
in a couple of weeks and that will be a good indicator of when I can get back into the swing of things. However, the
great people at the Central Florida Chapter are letting me help out other marathoners while they are working towards their
goal's for this season's races. this is a very worthwhile organization and even though I can't train for the marathon,
I'd like to help others as much as I can. So, Amy & Erica, thank you for letting me stay involved.
Also, I was able to get to San Diego this past weekend and see
3 of my teammates cross the finish line. I was overwhelmed....getting to train with them for so many weeks and then
see them accomplish what they worked so hard for. Raida, Sue & Christine-CONGRATULATIONS!!
