Driving Directions from San Jose to Monterey

1: Take Hwy 101 South to Prunedale.
2: Take 156 West (Monterey Peninsula Exit).
3: Merge with Hwy 1 South in Castroville.
4: Take Hwy 1 South to Monterey.

Driving Directions to Breakwater

1: Follow directions to Monterey (1-4 above).
2: Take the Del Monte Ave - Pacific Grove Exit (3rd Del Monte Exit).
3: Stay on Del Monte, go through the tunnel past Fisherman's Wharf.
4: Del Monte becomes Lighthouse.
5: The road forks. Take the right fork in the road - Foam Street.
6: Turn Right at the first traffic light onto Cannery Row.
7: You are now at San Carlos Beach (A.K.A. The Breakwater). Park close to the water. Look for me near the lower stop sign by the older looking stairs.

Directions to McAbee

1: Follow directions to Monterey (1-4 above).
2: Take the Del Monte Ave - Pacific Grove Exit (3rd Del Monte Exit).
3: Stay on Del Monte, go through the tunnel past Fisherman's Wharf.
4: Del Monte becomes Lighthouse.
5: The road forks. Take the right fork in the road - Foam Street.
6: Turn Right at the first traffic light onto Cannery Row.
7: Stay on Cannery Row (along the ocean).
8: McAbee Beach is located next to El Toritos Restaurant. You can park at a large paking lot accross the street from El Toritos.

Directions to Lover's Cove

1: Follow directions to Monterey (1-4 above).
2: Take the Del Monte Ave - Pacific Grove Exit (3rd Del Monte Exit).
3: Stay on Del Monte, go through the tunnel past Fisherman's Wharf.
4: Del Monte becomes Lighthouse.
5: Stay on Lighthouse Ave.
6: Turn left onto David Ave.
7: Turn right onto Hawthorne St.
8: Hawthorne Street becomes Lighthouse Ave.
9: Turn right onto Forest Ave.
10: Turn left onto Ocean View Blvd.

Directions to Monastery

1: Follow directions to Monterey (1-4 above).
2: Past Monterey and continue to Carmel.
3: About 1/2 to 3/4 mile past Rio Road (the last traffic light in Carmel) is Monastery. (If you pass Point Lobos State Park or see the Highland Fire station, you have gone too far.) Park on the West-side of Hwy 1. You can see the ocean from the Hwy.
