diary entries from the perspective of someone who accompanied one of the
early explorers. |
Perform a one person 3-5
minute presentation for the class, in which you act as someone from the time
period. Tell the class about your life. |
Complete the foldable
activities that are listed on Pg. 113, 147, 171. |

Develop advertisements for
5 innovations that allowed sailors to safely travel long distances. Make them attention grabbing so people
would have wanted to buy the items. |
Develop a cause/effect
chart with at least twenty cause and effect statements related to the unit. |
Grade the Spanish, French,
English, and Dutch overall on what they did. Be sure to cover several
different areas in your assessment. |

Create 2 time capsules for
the year 1491. One that focuses on what life was like for a Native American
group and one for a European group.
Include at least 5 items, write a description, and explain why you
included them. |
Research what happened to
one Native American group that the first explorers interacted with. Assess and describe the impact that the
interaction with the explorers had on their lives. |
Develop a “what if”
scenario at least one page long that details how history would be different
if a major event from the unit had not occurred. |

Make an illustrated ABC
book focusing on people, places, and things from the unit. Include 2-3
sentences for each entry explaining why they were important |
