French Prints of the Belle Epoque
The Belle Epoque era encompasses the years c.1895-1910.  The term is mostly associated with French art, but also applies to work done in the rest of Europe as well.  It is characterized by images of cafe life, beautiful women, as well as life of the streets - prostitutes, beggars and vagabonds.  The graphic artists of this period produced not only prints, but like many other artists, created posters, sheet music invitations and magazine illustrations.
