PLACES

A Brief Introduction

Andreas was born in Lynwood, California, in the same hospital as "Weird Al" Yankovic. Probably, in hindsight, a very bad omen. Andreas' nomadic tendencies are no doubt due to having attended 23 schools between the ages of 6 and 18. Most of these changes were by moving back and forth between Cali, and deepest, darkest Arkansas (with brief stints in Missouri and Washington State). Yup, culture shock, once a year, needed or not.

And, before you ask, he didn't come from a military family. Go figure.

Anyway, after escaping Arkansas for the final time, he decided to settle in North Carolina. He bought a house, settled in, and hoped his nomadic days were over.

Yeah, right... Andreas then signed on with a major computer company as a field tech. They sent him places -- visiting almost 30 states over two years -- to fix things. Once again, he was a reluctant nomad.

These days, he spends more time at home. His paying job involves answering the phone and trying very hard not to scream, or throw things.

When not answering silly computer questions, Andreas writes speculative fiction. He's submitted his fiction to the best magazines: Asimov's, McSweeney's, NFG, Realms of Fantasy, Strange Horizons, Talebones, and many others. Now all he has to do is get them published there.

When not writing, people have him design things. He's designed book covers for Wildside Press and Scrybe Press. He's designed websites for The Misfits in Print, Janrae Frank, and designed the one you're reading now. He was also the administrator for the (now defunct) Spec-Fic forum Darkzone.

Yeah, that's a lot of information to keep track of, isn't it? No problem. I made you this nifty scorecard below.
