Where is Madison anyway?
Madison is in southern Wisconsin. It has its own airport, is about a 2 hour drive from Chicago O'Hare airport, and 1 1/2 hour drive from Milwaukee.
Buses from Chicago & Milwaukee airports (these are much better than Greyhound!):
You'll want to get off at the Memorial Union stop in Madison. Let Andie know if you're coming by bus (or if you're flying into the Madison airport) and need a ride.
When should I come?
There's a pre-wedding bar-b-que at 5pm on Saturday, May 24th, the wedding is at 10:30 am on Sunday May 25th, and a brunch reception follows. Michael and Andie are going to hang around Sunday evening and stay at the Edgewater that night. We will leave for our honeymoon on Monday morning (Memorial Day).
Getting around once you're there:
Sat. BBQ: Tenney Park
Sun. Ceremony: Olbrich Botanical Gardens - Fountain Garden
Sun. Reception: Edgewater Hotel - Rigadoon Room
Everything is about a 5-10 min. drive apart. Anyone who will have a car and will have some extra room to give someone a ride,
AND
anyone who will not have a car and will need rides, let Andie know (andierice@earthlink.net, 818/231-8254)

FROM DOWNTOWN (5 min.) The Edgewater/Concourse/Capitol Square Take EAST JOHNSON going EAST (it's a one way street) Turn LEFT on MARSTON AVENUE Turn RIGHT on SHERMAN AVENUE Turn RIGHT on N. THORNTON AVENUE (it's a one way street) Proceed to the PARKING LOT, the shelter is right there. |

To Ceremony (Sunday, May 25th 10:30 am) Olbrich Botanical Gardens 3330 Atwood Avenue (608) 246-4550
FROM DOWNTOWN (10 min) The Edgewater, Concourse, Capitol Square (There will be a marathon going past the Edgewater in the morning. If you're planning to leave the Edgewater before 10am it may take you an extra 5-10 min to cross it) Take EAST JOHNSON EAST Turn RIGHT on SOUTH 1st STREET Turn LEFT on EASTWOOD DRIVE. This will turn into ATWOOD AVE. (Don't accidentally end up in the left turn only lane to Fair Oaks Ave.)When you start to see the lake, look for Olbrich on your left. The staff in the gift shop will direct you to the fountain garden.(If you hit Cottage Grove Road you went too far!) |
