Technology

·     Recognized for the ability to lead and complete projects and programs on time, and within budget and scope even with difficult assignments.

·     Program managed the design and implementation of a highly successful remote access IP/VPN now used by over 25,000 employees. Benefits included better security and higher speeds, while saving Sprint millions of dollars.

·     Initiated and completed a pilot for an enterprise-wide, E10K UNIX mainframe consolidation of over 1,000 UNIX servers. Sprint ultimately saved tens of millions of dollars.

·     Provided leadership that expanded delivery capabilities for Web hosting and ASP.

·     Designed and implemented a data warehouse to collect and store call center call detail records resulting in next day analysis of collected data.

·     Led a major technology refresh of 1,500 desktops in 5 call centers that included new hardware, operating systems and applications that improved productivity, reliability and maintainability.

·    Programmed three commercial applications. These included an Internet order and fulfillment application for Hallmark Cards, a point of sale system for a restaurant equipment wholesaler, and a billing application for an Internet service of the Kansas City Star.

·     Promoted three grade levels in three years within Sprint.

 

Finance

 

·     VP Finance with a staff of 60+ that managed the company's financial functions, including the strategic and operational planning, accounting, forecasting, analysis, procurement and MIS.

·     Directed the financial team's participation in a turnaround of the company's $12MM loss that led to profitability in 18 months.

·     Participated in the company's overall executive management, including strategic and policy-making decisions.

·     As Division Controller, managed 20% annualized growth with no increase in headcount.

·     Within Control Data, promoted over ten years to VP Finance of a $60MM division.

 

 

Sales and Marketing

 

·     Penetrated new sales territories in the banking, utilities, and state government markets with multi-million dollar wins.

·     Created a new Internet business development team to prospect, evaluate, and contract with B2Bs (dot-coms) to resell Sprint's products and services.
