Family of Lionel1 and Rose (Baker) Chute

Lionel Chute, son of Lionel Chute, was born at Dedham, Essex, about 1580, died at Ipswich MA in June 1645; married Rose Baker about 1610, daughter of Robert Baker; she survived Lionel. He brought his family to Massachusetts, settling at Ipswich by 1634; he was the town's first schoolmaster.

His family has been traced back to an ancestor who died in 1268. He brought with him from England scrolls proving his pedigree.
