three pictures of Anat I was born in Israel 29 years ago. I started taking classical piano lessions at the age of 6. It was at this early age I began improvising whenever my teacher was not around. At the age of 19, while serving in the Israeli Army, I developed an interest in jazz. I began openly improvising during this time and slowly realized that a visit to the USA could open some interesting doors. I decided to attend a summer session at the Eastman School of Music. There I heard about the jazz program at William Paterson University. I auditioned, was accepted and spent the next four years living in the lovely area of Wayne, New Jersey. School was a great experience. I've had the opportunity to study with such great teachers as Norman Simmons and Vic Juris. Towards the end of school I discovered that what I most wanted to do was write and play my own music and not be tied to one style. I have gigged all over New York and New Jersey with different styles of bands. The list of great musicians I have had the pleasure of playing with include Horacee Arnold, Rufus Reid and Jane Ira Bloom. You can hear my music on my new CD, PEEL. You can also hear samples of some songs and find ordering information on my Discography page. To find out where I will be playing soon please check out my Bookings page. Thanks!
