Places We've Lived
Haverford, Pennsylvania Stevens Point, Wisconsin Terre Haute, Indiana

Revised October 8, 1998

Clark Street House A typical winter scene at our house in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. This was in early December, 1990, but could have been any time between October and April.
We lived in this house from August, 1988 when we moved to Stevens Point until October, 1991 when we rented and later sold it because we moved out east.
Built in 1871 by George W. Green and located in a historic residential district near downtown Stevens Point.

Other prominent families residing here included the Buckingham family (1894-1916) and the Krembs family (1916-1955).

Oldest house still standing in its original location on Clark Street, one of the major streets in Stevens Point, currently eastbound U.S. Route 10.

Exterior style a hybrid of Greek Revival and Italianate.

Site of several wedding and funeral services, including Buckingham-Campbell wedding in September, 1895, attended by nearly 300 persons.
Sitting on wall
We used to relax in the evening by sitting on the retaining wall along the Clark Street sidewalk and watching the traffic. The wall was added in 1899 when Clark Street was regraded.
