Study Abroad through Ethnic Studies

A Special Undergraduate International Experience. This program is a cultural introduction to the Mexican nation. The student attends summer school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and receives six credits at Bowling Green State University. The courses are taught in English by BGSU faculty and the credits are within the University's system.
Classes take place during the morning and the student is free to explore and get acquainted with the Mexican people and culture during the afternoon and evening. Especial activities take the student to different communities, historical settings, as well as to museum and cultural centers. The student should be prepared to walk and come in contact with a significant number of individuals while learning from observation the nuances and the realities of the Mexican culture

Span 395:The Impact of Globalization in Mexico
A 3-credit service-learning course offered during Spring semester. This course is designed for students who want to explore Mexico’s unique cultural and economic concerns in today’s globalizing world and who are willing to go all the way to Xalapa, Veracruz to explore those issues. This course is taught in English and is open to undergradute students of all majors and backgrounds.
