By day, I am a software engineer with expertise in the areas of requirements engineering and web application development on the Java platform. That's a dynamic technical niche that keeps me busy, but I like working on other stuff as well.

I have a strong track record of product design and development for small software companies, including startups. I enjoy working in this environment because the work is creative and because my ideas, and the risks I take, contribute concretely to the success of the business.

Otherwise as a normal human being, I have two younger children and live in the Pacific Northwest, where I enjoy hiking, game programming (yes, it's also my hobby), fighting with the garden, and Gene Wolfe and Octavia Butler novels (R.I.P.).
