Raise the Flag
by Charles Clark
Raise the flag folks, raise the flag
Hold her high folks, don't let her drag
Raise the flag folks,
raise the flag
She's mighty proud, so
don't let her sag.
For over two hundred years,
she has been by our side
For over two hundred years,
we have served her with pride
She's the symbol of right
and equality
The symbol of those who
have died to be free
So, raise the flag folks,
raise the flag
When Washington crossed
the Delaware
He carried our flag, and
it is still there
He held it high, so that
all could see
For he knew what, it meant
to free
So, raise the flag folks,
raise the flag
Then a man by the name
of Francis Scott Key
One day
wrote, "Oh say can you see"
It's a song of our flag,
and its majesty
Of freedom and rights
and liberty
So, raise the flag folks,
Raise the flag
Then
they fought at the Alamo
The
United States, against Mexico
There were two hundred
men, who fought to live free
Yes, two hundred died,
for us can't you see
So, raise the flag folks,
Raise the flag
Hold her high folks, don't
let her drag
Raise
the flag folks, Raise the flag
She's mighty proud, so
don't let her sag
When the blue fought the
gray, In the Civil War
They fought and they fought,
"Till they could-fight no more
They fought for the right,
Of all to be free
Yes they fought for the
rights of both you and me
So, raise the flag folks,
Raise the flag
Then they sailed to fight
in World War One
And they unfurled the-flag,
and took her along
And 'tho they fought in
the woods, and the trenches too
They never lost sight,
of the red, white and blue
So, raise the flag folks,
Raise the flag
We have fought in Iraq
and Germany
Korea, Japan and South
Vietnam
We have given our all,
for the right to be free
And our flag waves proud,
for the whole world to see
So, Raise the flag folks,
Raise the flag
Hold her high folks, don’t
let her drag
Raise
the flag folks, raise the flag
She's mighty proud; so
don't let her sag
