Purchasing an Alkas'iber Siberian Husky

Alkas'iber Kennels is not a commercial venture. We produce zero to two litters a year, breeding our stock dogs only to replace or improve our current dogs. We offer a few pups from these litters to active showing or working homes, or to loving pet homes, suiting the pups to their future homes based on the pups' physical attributes and temperament. We consider puppy purchasing akin to adoption. We stand by our pups and we expect to support new owners by being a source of information on rasing, training, and caring for their pups throughout their lives. We do not sell dogs to people who we know little about, so if you want a dog from us expect that we will ask a lot about you and that we will attempt to verify information you give us.

Please do not leave vague messages such as "got any pups?" or "how much are your pups?" Instead, tell us about yourself and your reasons for wanting an Alkas'iber Siberian Husky.

We do occasionally have adult dogs for sale. Usually they are trained in harness and are suitable for working homes or active homes where a "snow dog" would thrive: i.e., cross country skiers, hikers, etc. Every once in a while we get a "couch potato" who would rather cuddle than run. Those we place in homes that want the look of a Siberian Husky, but not the energy!

Our males are at stud to quality bitches whose hips and eyes have been genetically screened for inherited defects. Frozen semen is available from most our dogs, and we will export semen to approved bitches.

To learn more about the Siberian Husky contact The Siberian Husky Club of America. You may obtain information from the Corresponding Secretary, Fain Zimmerman 210 Madera Drive, Victoria, TX 77905-0611, or you may contact her at Sledog@tisd.net. "The New Complete Siberian Husky" by Michael Jennings (ISBN 0-87605-339-8) is an excellent reference book on the history and characteristics of the Siberian Husky. It can be purchased at most major bookstores or on-line booksellers.
