Dear Alan and Renee,

We had Alan come out to our home for one private 90 minute training session this last February to help our German Shorthaired Pointer, Penny, get acclimated to our new home. I've been intending to write you for a long time to let you know how pleased we have been with the results. Alan showed us how to correctly use an e-collar and within a week we had gone out and purchased our own e-collar. Since then, we have been able to take Penny on walks and runs while on a loose leash (a previously impossible task). We have even been able to take her to the sandwich shop down the street and she held a sit stay throughout the duration of the meal. We even remarked that she was better behaved than the children who were running, jumping, and screaming right in front of her the entire time. The employees at Petsmart were also very impressed as Penny behaved herself in the Halti around lots of activity and other dogs.

I cannot thank you enough for the information Alan provided us. I still look forward to taking Alan up on his offer to drop in on some classes to increase her socialization and continue practicing her training with distractions. I regret that I have not had the time to work on her recall, but I intend to now that I am on summer vacation. We have been more than pleased with the training and have recommended you to friends and family.

Again, thank you so much and we look forward to working with you again in the future. I know that Penny thanks you too as now she is well-behaved enough to accompany us on more outings.

Sincerely,

Laura and PennyDog :)

Subject: Dog Competition Judging

Dear Alan & Renee,

I wanted to write you and THANK YOU for being such wonderful judges at the County Fair Dog Show today.

Justina & Rex are so proud. I was a bit apprehensive about letting Justina enter Rex in this competition, due to his lack of confidence, and overwhelming size (he can pull Justina to San Francisco in a heart beat!). We were also not able to join the 4H Dog Project due to conflicts, so she had no "official" training.

Justina wanted to do it anyways and prove that she and her dog could do it.  Thanks to your knowledge of Shepards and all their quirks, you have made this a wonderful experience for my daughter.

 Thank you!
 Sincerely,
Heike Sharp, mama to Justina Sharp, and Rex

Subject: Tuesday Class

Renee & Alan,

I just wanted to send you guys an e-mail to thank you so much for all the good information and help that you’ve been giving Maddie and me. With Maddie’saggressive behavior prior to class, I was pretty fearful about bringing her into a crowd of people and other dogs, but have been so happy with the progress that we’ve made. We certainly have a good amount of practice and reinforcement to do, but at least you guys have helped me get past my fear and hopefully I’ll continue to help Maddie get past her fears so that she can become a happier, more social dog. We’re looking forward to next week’s agility equipment class, and you’ll likely see us in future classes, but Ijust wanted to be sure to pass this on to you now. What a pleasure it is and will be to have this improved relationship with little Miss Maddie.

THANK YOU!!!

Subject: Thank you for your help!

Alan and Renee,

I wanted to thank you for your dedication and insight in the training of dogs with behavioral issues.  Because of your dog training classes and the one on one visits with Alan we are starting to see significant improvements in Happy’s behavior.  Owning a dog with behavioral issues is a constant challenge and for the first time we have hope that we will be able to correct his behavior and come to own a dog that is less temperamental and more enjoyable to be around.  I would recommend your classes and your help to anyone who feels like they have exhausted all of their options in dealing with their dog or to anyone to wants to start off on a good foot with training their dog.  Your services are invaluable and we truly appreciate all of your help!

Sincerely,

Kristina, Rob, and Happy

Alan and Renee,

I wanted to thank you for the outstanding instruction you provided for JR (and more importantly me). I now have much more confidence in taking JR out in public. I will continue to work on what we've learned.

Yesterday we had a stranger come to the house for an estimate on some work. My wife who hasn't had a chance to work w/JR (that is being rectified today), had him locked in the bedroom. I took out his CC and leash and escorted him to the back yard, where my wife and stranger were, and his behavior was great. The leash was tight at first but w/in a few minutes I was able let it swing freely. The difference was amazing.

We have a ways to go in our training, and we may not get to any obedience competitions, but I am confident there are many more outings in our future, now we won't have to leave him behind when we go camping.

Secondly, I had a question regarding the cookie type treat that JR's buddy Renee gave to him on the last evening of class. What was the treat (looked like a Quaker Oats bar)? What is the brand name? Where can they be purchased locally? They look a little healthier than the Kirkland Dog Biscuits my wife gives him.

Finally, I came to you on recommendation of the Golden Gate ESS Rescue, http://www.homestead.com/Springers/ based in Oakland. Diane Tebault recommended your service. My next e-mail is to her to let her know what an outstanding recommendation she made.

Thanks for all your help and we'll see you for a visit when your classes move to Land Park.

My 2 yr old Rottweiler, Sophie, and I have been through Albree's Beginning Obedience classes multiple times, as well as the Intermediate Obedience Â. We certified as a therapy team when Sophie was only 12 months old, largely because Renee and Alan knew my goals and supported me with special assistance when needed. Even when we had our basic obedience down, their classes provided a great place to continue working with distractions and ongoing socialization.

They regularly support Lend A Heart Animal-Assisted Therapy here in Sacramento, by providing trainer evaluations for teams without charge and by appointment, and we TRULY appreciate their community spirit in doing so.  I regularly recommend Albree to my friends and acquaintances as experienced trainers who can communicate with people as well as dogs.
