I began crafting the lamps in the back corner of a friend's woodshop
in 1994. I took 8 month master the complexities of the design and create the first one. They were sold locally by word of
mouth and also offered through the Gamble House in Pasadena, California.

Each Bowcompass Lamp is handmade one at a time by seasoned Pasadena Craftsmen, with hundreds of years experience (collectively)
in woodwork, metalwork, wood finishing and patina application.
We have used high grade quarter sawn
white oak stained with a beautiful warm, red walnut stain. The copper strapping, spindle, knobs and fitter have a beautiful
mottled brown patina and the blown glass shades are from Lundberg Studios in Davenport, California.
