Fellow Air Commandos and Associates -

Greetings from the Emerald Coast! Updated information on this year's extraordinary reunion extravaganza...Hurlburt Homecoming 2000, the ACA Millennium Reunion Weekend is now on the website. Please review the information and make your reservation early. This year's event is going to exceed our expectations, so first come-first served is in effect. As of 7/28/2000, we have 93 rooms reserved, mostly in the Radisson. As of 8/3/2000, we have received 155 reservations for reunion tickets. We are in the last 30 days of the hotel reservation block. On September 5th, if the block isn't full, the unreserved rooms will be returned to the general public reservation pool and the special rate is no longer guaranteed. Please understand that once the reservation block is full, the special room rate will not be available!

I made my reservation! Did you? Remember...first come, first served is the ROE!! PLEASE DON'T GET LEFT OUT BY WAITING UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATION!

The Radisson Beach Resort is headquarters for the reunion. When you call to make reservations, please inform the reservationist that you are with the Air Commando Association and you are reserving in the Hurlburt Millennium Reunion reservation block. The block is named the Hurlburt Millennium Reunion block because the hotel is registering other fraternal organizations within this block and we get the biggest discount possible through the extra volume. Here are the hotel phone numbers:

The Radisson Beach Resort 850-243-9181 (there is no toll free number)
(The old Holiday Inn for some of you)
$69 per night for courtyard and pool side rooms
$79 per night for the beach front view rooms

The Hampton Inn 850-301-0906 (there is no toll free number)
(Right next to the Radisson Beach Resort)
$59 per night (all new rooms)

The Ramada Beach Resort. 800-472-1790 toll free or 850-243-9161
$70 per night with a standard or courtyard view
$85 per night for a beach front view

The web site contains all the information printed in the newsletter and also mailed to you in a separate mailing in May. Please scroll down through this whole page to see the price listing of the ticket combinations at the end of the page. Although some of the prices are five dollars higher than last year, the ticket price includes more value, like a meal for the golf tournament price as an example. I'm sure if you consider the extent of this year's reunion activities, you will agree the ticket prices are a bargain. If you don't agree, please ask for ACA Form 22 to submit your complaints and suggestions. These forms are available at any of the local ACA memorabelia retail outlets on the gulf coast.

When you look through the activities, you will note the fly-in on Thursday and the symposium on Saturday as new events added to this year's reunion activities. If you know someone who has a war bird that wants to participate in the fly-in, please have them contact me ASAP. If you know of some interesting speaker who might like to share some insight on all things special, please have them contact me ASAP. I would love to talk to them.

There is a lot of activity leading up to the Hurlburt Homecoming 2000 weekend. Several other fraternal organizations will be holding their reunions at the same time. The base is expecting a very large crowd. The base activity plan will be posted on this web site within three weeks. Stay tuned for updates. I look forward to a super time and I know this will be the one reunion weekend you won't want to miss.

Anytime, Anyplace -

Rip Kirby
Vice President
