Kagami Biraki Celebration
Biraki is a traditional New Year's celebration and ceremony in Japan. Mochi, or rice cakes, are offered as a symbol of personal reflection.
traditional dojos, Kagami Biraki represents a Renewing of the Spirit and Rededication to Training. It is also a wish for good luck, no injuries, and a celebration of thanks for all our training partners.
Aikido of the San Juans celebrates Kagami Biraki every year in early January, with a special class for all members,
family and friends; kagami biraki ceremony; and shared meal.
All members and family welcome and encouraged to participate.
