Hi-Res Aerial Photo of Disneyland

I have created a high resolution color aerial picture of Disneyland. On this picture you can clearly see most of the rides and their show buildings and even many of the backstage areas.  I've even used it as a map, and found it easier to use then the official maps.

To create this picture I took many high resolution black and white pictures from the USGS (courtesy http://terraserver.microsoft.com) of Disneyland and stitched them together in Adobe Photoshop.  I then converted the picture into lab color mode and replaced the color info with the color info from a low resolution color image I found on the web (still in Photoshop).  I then took the image and sharpened it with an Unsharp Mask and a standard Sharpen filter in Photoshop.

The combination of images appears hi-res because the human eye cannot distinguish color at a high resolution, so this combination appears to be a high-res color image.  In other words, since the eye is pretty bad at detecting resolution when only color (and not brightness) changes, it looks like a high res color image.
