SAMPLES OF ABCZ SOFTWARE

ABCZ Software works with Instant Text, a text expander. You need to own Instant Text to utilize ABCZ Software. To obtain Instant Text, please see the links on the order page.

(ABCZ Software also works with the Shorthand/SpeedType expanders. If you own Shorthand, You can order and view the sample files, which will display in any text editor such as WordPad, NotePad or UltraEdit. The short forms are  different in some cases because Instant Text and Shorthand work differently.)

In the Instant Text version, the sample of ABCZ files consists of the files below. Some screen shots are included as well. This sampling of files contain entries for the letters A-C only. The instructions for the full files are included. You can try out the files for entries beginning with the letters A through C and view the contents of a sample file in the Glossary Viewer. The complete versions of TAMed, Terri's MSG and Abbreviation Master contain additional files beyond those in the sample packet. (Judy's Drug lists consists of full versions of the two sample files.) Please see the separate pages on this web site describing each of these software sets in detail.

    TAMed2 - The Typing Assistant
ABCZMT2Sample.glo - the main medical file
WordsBigList2Sample.glo - a supplementary list of medical terminology
WordsDoctors2Sample.glo - a second supplementary list of medical terminology
    Drug&Dosage2Sample.glo - drugs and dosages
Dates97_02Sample.glo - dates (April and August)

An example of how ABCZ and IT work is shown below. The ABCZMT2 glossary has been opened. The letters "ca" have been typed. Any of the phrases which appear in the advisory are easily entered into the text using various Instant Text methods such as typing the number next to the entry.

    Judy's Drug Lists
    GenericITSample.glo
    BrandITSample.glo

Here again the letters "ca" have been typed with Judy's Generic Drug list opened. Great keystroke savings are possible with medications using ABCZ and Instant Text. Any left to right combination can be used to target a word. E.g. you could type "cbgl" or "cabli" and get "cabergoline".

    Terri's Medical Specialty Glossaries
    Genitourinary2Sample.glo
    Laboratory_Pathology2Sample.glo
    Neonatal1Sample.glo
    Oncology2Sample.glo
    Orthopaedics2Sample.glo

Here Terri's LabPath glossary has been opened and the letters "cu" typed. Again, huge keystroke savings can result with either individual words or phrases. E.g. "cu5" and a marker key (total of 4 strokes) would yield "culture and sensitivity test" - 28 characters (a 700% gain).

    Abbreviation Master (with Mike DeTuri)
    QnumbersSample.glo (9000 values - type qll)
    VitalsSample.glo  (values beginning with 9)

Vitals.glo has been opened and "ti" typed. The glossary contains two other formats for temperatures as well as values for pulse and respiratory rate.
