Rebirthing by Simon McCain and
Evelyn Allen
Rebirthing is also known as Conscious Connected Breathing and, more generally, breathwork.
For nearly three decades, "Rebirthing" has been a general term used to describe a form of personal
growth process. The process of Rebirthing to which we refer encompasses a wide range of treatments which
are based solely on a particular breathing technique.
It is a non-invasive, non-confrontational technique in which the client directs his or her own free breathing process
with the positive support of the Rebirthing facilitator.
Rebirthing is an internationally-known breathing technique, which is currently practiced internationally. A
partial list of countries includes: the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, England, Australia, New
Zealand, France, Spain, Italy, and Denmark.
The breathing technique known as Rebirthing was developed in the early 1970s by Leonard Orr. The technique continued
to be developed by Sondra Ray, Stanislav Grof, and other practitioners who are concerned with facilitating personal
growth and enhancing relationships. The term is not trademarked, but for nearly thirty years it has generally been
used to refer to a gentle, peaceful, non-invasive breathing technique which relieves stress, promotes physical
and emotional well-being, and reveals memories of birth and early childhood.
There are hundreds of professionally trained Rebirthers around the world who have helped enhance the lives of many
thousands.
