Dennis, A.K.A
Den
Den has retired from teaching art and is now enjoying cooking, golf and most
especially, bringing music to others. While growing up on classic rock and roll, Den was drawn to both jazz and classical
music. He could often be found with clarinet wailing to the recordings of Henry Mancini, Pete Fountain, and Artie
Shaw. Today, his warm vocals and lyrical guitar
provide the perfect blend for the classic rock and acoustical ballads he prefers. Den joins After Hours with an impressive
array of self-taught musical talents on guitar, piano, clarinet, sax, and flute. Over the years, Den has performed solo, in
trios, and with numerous area bands, including Junction and One Lane Bridge. While he has helped organize musical variety shows
and encourage many student performers, the "icing on the cake" is playing music with his family.
Diane (or Di)
As a part-time writer and full-time mom, Diane loves being part of After Hours, bringing soaring vocals, sweet harmonies, and guitar
to the mix. "It’s in the genes," claims Diane, who vividly recalls singing four-part harmonies around the piano at a young age. She continued on
to explore a wide range of musical genres from choral works and big band jazz to folk and rock and roll. Diane comes off a number of years performing in coffeehouses with
stints in bigger venues such as the Superdome, Disney World, and various college campuses. She’s done studio work for
gospel singer, Denise
Marsa and collaborated on many recording sessions
with fellow musicians. More recently, Diane has performed in informal coffeehouses and shows as well as with local bands. She also heads the praise band at her
church.
Trish
Trish has been a musician all of her life. Vocally, her background is in sacred and
classical music, but she has been singing with bands since high school. Her first studio project culminated with a CD of original
music "Broken Doll" with her band KesKaSay in 1996. After that, she frequented the halls of the Songwriter's
Guild (where Carol
King and many other music legends got their
start) and ASCAP in New York City. As she continued to write originals, she focused some of her energies on writing songs for terminally ill children
through the Songs of Love non-profit organization also based in New York. Trish has a catalog of over 75 songs with her ASCAP publishing affiliation KesKaSay
Music. She has recorded and performed with the KVD Project, most recently warming up for Sally Taylor (James Taylor's daughter) at the Conduit Club in Trenton. Her extensive vocal background includes singing and recording sacred music with her church’s
Chancel Choir and a guest performance on the New Jersey Gay Men's Chorus Holiday CD released in 2000. Trish continues to write her brand of music-with-a-message and
currently performs with the classic rock cover trio After Hours, and in the Princeton area at Singer/Songwriter house concerts.
