VSQLv3 Scenario start file guidelines: ====================================== Most importantly, before you create any scenario start files, set your VSQL preferences to "permit opponent to reveal concealed units" since this setting is required in order for the user of your files to delete any concealment counteres that you may select from the unit window. Format Guideline: 1) Create board configuration used by scenario. 2) Modify boards as appropriate, if possible. 3) If applicable, place "V" counters on appropriate Victory locations. 4) Add at least one "North" counter, centered above the top of the board area. As an option, include north markers at top and bottom of each length- wise board and at off left and right sides of the board area. 5) Select the appropriate counters for the scenario and stack in locations that will assist the user of your start file. 6) For concealment, best to use ONE concealment counter and label it like "(ten) dummy plus concealment counters". This is because the act of making a stack concealed (cntrl-C) adds one "?" to the top of the stack. 7) Use blank counters of the appropriate nationality for any instructions relevant to set up. 8) DOUBLE-CHECK your work! 9) INFO creation: -- From your clip-board, use CNTL-V to paste information into the INFO section or type/transcribe the information in yourself. -- Top line: Use "SQL", "COI", "COD", or "GI" to identify the rules level of the scenario, followed by the ROS ID# and the title in "quotes", include a source or author, as applicable. -- Second line: Identify the file as VSQLv3, your name, and a creation date. -- Note: Use a line with ONE SPACE to separate lines of text and sections. If you do not have at least one space on a line, it will disappear upon saving and re-opening. -- Scenario situation/date/description, as applicable. -- Boards in use (make a figure if you care to do so) -- Turns, which side sets up first, which side goes first. -- adjust turn counter to reflect this information -- Rules to be used (if applicable) -- Victory Conditions -- Side One Set up forces -- Reinforcements, if applicable -- Side Two Set up forces -- Reinforcements, if applicable -- SSR listings -- Other information (playtest credits, variants) 10) PROOFREAD your work! 11) SAVE file with following naming convention: A) Rules level first B) "_" seperator C) Series, if applicable D) "_" seperator E) ROS ID# F) "."
