ADAM'S ANIMAL STORIES - Poetry and Musings
Introduction
I notice the many ways I am like the animals in my world, and they, like me. I choose to see things that way; I think it is important to do so. As a result of cultivating this attitude, many opportunities to share some of the resultant experiences have arisen to form the main body of my creative process around animal issues. My "Animal Stories" are the most direct among these.
Here are some others...
Lila and Me (2/27/04)
At this moment, I rose from my Internet seat to fetch my coffee from the other room:
Noticing the back sliding door too open to the cold and humid day, I prepared to draw it closed just enough for the dog to pass in and out, which she likes to be able to do. She likes to keep track of what's happening outside, even while she otherwise prefers the indoors.
As I know she has a favorite spot from which she gazes out at the broader world beyond her yard, as expected, I found her there facing the gate; looking pensively, awaiting change, reaching out attentively for anything that might affect our little home world.
I returned to my desktop window and its world outside, through which I do essentially the same as she.
Once again, I see we are not so different.
