As a child every Thursday evening my parents would pull down the window shades, place me in a chair, turn off the lights and for an hour we would sit in the dark until the church folks passed by. Not being permitted to grow up in the church had devastating effects upon my life. Because of alcohol while serving in the military, I almost ended my life, spending three days and two nights in a straight jacket in a padded cell got my attention. Just six months prior to my honorable discharge I had an encounter with Jesus Christ that completely changed my life. Glory to His Name!
In the early 60's, with very little Christian background, I embarked upon what would turn out to be a long continuous and often times discouraging journey to prepare myself for the ministry to which the Great God of Creation had called me. In 1984 I received the terminal degree of Doctor of Ministry from The Southern Baptist School of Biblical Studies in Jacksonville, Florida where I served on the President's Board of Advisors and as Student Advisor of Virginia.
My wife and I served as a New Church Planters in Texas from 1987 to 1991. God's ministry has allowed me to preach four area wide Evangelistic Crusades in Nova Scotia, Canada as well as revivals across the southern United States to Arizona. I have pastored churches in Alabama, Georgia, Texas and Virginia. Encouragement in The Daily Walk articles have appeared weekly in local newspapers.
I have been affiliated with Truth Radio 89.9 FM and 91.3 FM since 1996, serving as co-host of the program "A New Song For A New Day", Trinity Christian Academy, Oxford, Alabama.
Retired from the pastorate in May 8, 1999 and in good health I have made myself available for God to use me (and keep me busy) in revivals, interim and supply work in the future.
