This list is provided simply as a service to fans of _2300 AD_. I do not work for (or otherwise profit from) any of the dealers listed here.
Crazy Egor's Games Warehouse. 3047 West Henrietta Road Rochester, NY. E-mail: Egor@CrazyEgors.com.
Crazy Egor's specializes in searching for those out-of-print treasures, and if you know exactly what you want, you can try their Expert Troll Search to see if they have it in stock.
My 2 Cents: I have dealt with Crazy Egor's only once, as far as I can recall. I sent them my "Wish List" back in late 1997, and apparently they have yet to locate any of the items I listed (at least, not for the prices I was willing to pay), even though I've gotten them from other places for less... They do provide helpful, courteous service, though, and will keep looking until you tell them to stop. I still hear from them on occasion, asking if I want an item, or to update my list.
The Dragon's Trove. P.O. Box 5203 Kendall Park, NJ 08824-5203. E-mail: order@dragontrove.com.
The Dragon's Trove occasionally has _2300 AD_, _Star Cruiser_, or some other 2300-related item(s), and might be able to find something else, for previous customers. Dragon Trove's HomePage.
My 2 Cents: I ordered what I thought was _Traveller:2300_ from Dragon's Trove (it was listed as "Traveller:2300 AD: Man's Battle for the Stars"), but received _2300 AD_. Dragon's Trove was unaware of the difference, but was willing to refund if I returned it. Months later (January, 1998), I finally managed to acquire a used copy of _Traveller:2300_ from here. I have also bought several issues of GDW's _Challenge_ Magazine from them, in good condition, and at a good price, as well as a few issues of _Stardate_ that were listed as "Near Mint" but were actually in "Poor" condition. Mike Cox (the owner) said to keep the magazines, and he'd grant me their price on account. I was also able to find a Mint copy of 3W's _Operation Overlord_ here, on one occasion. Michael Cox is also apparently a part-owner or invester in Crazy Egor's, as well.
DriveThruRPG sells DRM (Digital Rights Management) E-books in Adobe's Acrobat .PDF (Portable Document Format). They have the Kafer Sourcebook, 3W's Operation Overlord, and all the other GDW Games, Modules, and Sourcebooks except for Rotten to the Core, for some odd reason. You can see the full catalog for 2300AD, here.
My 2 Cents: I haven't dealt with DriveThruRPG.com, except to get the free version of 2300AD, when it was available. Sorry, this freebie lasted a week, and I missed the Traveller:2300 freebie!
Setting up the DRM is a bit of a hassle, but if you can't find something in print, then this is one way to get it! If you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0+, and register for a free DriveThruRPG account, you can then buy and download these .PDF eBooks.
Once you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0+ installed, you will have to go to the Tools menu, and select "eBook Web Services", and then the "Adobe DRM Activator" from the "eBook Web Services" sub-menu. From there, either login with a pre-existing MSN ".NET Passport" ID, create one, or create an Adobe ID. Then go to DriveThruRPG.com, create an account there, then go to the 2300AD link, above, and click on "Add to Cart" for the items that you want to buy. There are 20 of them!
$149 for the whole set, minus the missing Rotten to the Core Module, just in case you were interested... Don't buy'em all in one shot, though, as there are some problems with downloading rights, if you're interrupted, for some reason. It's probably better to buy'em one at a time, instead!
As time goes by, you will (no doubt) have to keep up with the latest version of the Acrobat Reader software, in order to continue to use this service, if you wish. Also, please note that DriveThruRPG.com has had some privacy-problem issues.
FarFuture. E-mail: FarFuture@FarFuture.net.
FarFuture had a few copies of everything except: the first edition _Traveller:2300_, the _Earth/Cybertech Sourcebook_, the _Invasion_ module, and the Non-GDW Products (3W's _Operation Overlord_ & SGS' deckplans), the last I checked. GDW Alumnus Marc W. Miller runs this one.
My 2 Cents: I ordered five modules from FarFuture, for $7.00 apiece (inclusive of S&H). I got one stamped "GDW Library", and another signed by Timothy Brown (one of the game's authors). Both games were $20.00 each. Prices have probably gone up, since.
The Gamer's Realm. 2025 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550. 1-877-658-8754 E-mail: games@gamersrealm.com.
This company has copies of most of the _2300 AD_ products. They no longer have copies of Seeker's _USS Hampton_ & _SS Virginia_ deckplans.
My 2 Cents: I have dealt with the Gamer's Realm a couple of times, getting a few copies of _Challenge_. No complaints.
Noble Knight Games c/o Aaron Leeder, 2219 Green Valley Dr. Janesville, WI 53546. E-mail: nobleknight@nobleknight.com.
Noble Knight Games is another online shop that carries new stuff, as well as whatever older items they can get, including some 2300AD stuff, and issues of Challenge and The Travellers' Digest.
My 2 Cents: I've ordered various old and new (Non-2300) items from Noble Knight Games several times, over the years, and always received satisfactory service on each occasion. They, too, carry a lot of other Non-2300 stuff, so click on the link to their site, and have a look around.
The Sentry Box. 1835 10th Ave SW, Calgary, AB, T3C 0K2, Canada. E-mail: sentrybox@sentrybox.com.
They carry an extensive collection of out-of-print 2300 material, Seeker Deckplans, Twilight:2000, and hordes of other stuff. US viewers take note: Their prices are in Canadian, and cheaper than they look! The Sentry Box's HomePage.
My 2 Cents: I've dealt with SB several times, but the first time's a hassle, for Americans. They won't accept checks unless they've dealt with you for a while. I won't use credit cards on the 'net, so I had to get a Money Order. Also, one of the products I had confirmed availabilty & price on turned out not to be available (but they did offer to ship a replacement for free, to make up for it). Shipping is a bit slow, as it took ten days for my order to arrive. The second time, they agreed to take a check, but were still pretty slow. Also, while their prices on magazines are very good, getting an up-to-date list out of them was exceptionally hard! All in all, I'm pretty happy with them, though, and they did have the _Invasion_ Module, which is one of the three hardest 2300 modules to find.
Titan Games, Inc. 509 W. Park Avenue Champaign, Illinois 61820. E-mail: orders@titan-games.com.
They carry whatever they can get; some new, some used. Titan Games' HomePage.
My 2 Cents: I have ordered from the old Titan Games (now under new management) many times, buying old back-issues of magazines each time. Their prices were higher than most, and shipping was slow, even though I paid extra for First Class. I haven't ordered from them since TG changed hands. They still have some 2300 stock. They may now be out of business.
Wizard Games. E-mail: Info@wizard-games.com or order@wizard-games.com.
They have quite a few GDW products in stock, but the site is only in Swedish! You'll have to write them at the "info" address for more info (yes, they understand English).
My 2 Cents: I worked out a deal with them to complete my collection of _Challenge_ magazines. This took a while, since currencies between countries (not to mention tax laws) were a problem. At first, they asked me to send cash through the mail (which is a good way to lose your cash, and get nothing for it), then the person I was dealing with went on vacation for two weeks, then we finally worked out a deal to go through a friend of his in California, USA. It took seemingly forever for my check to get cashed, and about as long, again, for the magazines to arrive after that. I finally did get the two copies that I have been missing, however. A long time coming, but in the end, no complaints.
One might wonder if it's still possible to get all of the 2300 Games, Modules, & Sourcebooks (now that they're out of print, and GDW is no longer in business). With the exception of the first edition _Traveller:2300_, the _Earth/Cybertech Sourcebook_, and 3W's _Operation Overlord_ (and the _Star Cruiser_ space combat game, which I found but didn't buy), I was able to acquire everything else on the products list in June - August of 1997. Nearly all of these were in mint condition, and the game(s) still in shrinkwrap.
In late 1997 I added a Near Mint copy of the _Earth/Cybertech Sourcebook_ to the collection. In early February 1998, I was able to add a used copy of _Traveller:2300_ and a Mint copy of 3W's _Operation Overlord_ to the list. I have no doubt that you can get a first (or second) copy of anything, if you try hard enough (and want to spend the money).
Among GDW products, the First Edition _Traveller:2300_ game (out of print since at least 1989), the _Earth/Cybertech Sourcebook_, and the _Invasion_ module, are the hardest to find. The _Kafer Sourcebook_ is becoming increasingly harder to find, as well. 3W's _Operation Overlord_ and SGS' deckplans are also becoming most difficult to find. The rest are relatively easy. The best choice for finding those items listed here may be The Gamer's Realm. Finding _Operation Overlord_ will require some patience, but they can ALL be found.
Also, late in 1997, I had NO issues of _Challenge_ (or any other 2300-related) Magazine. By June 1998, I had all but two of the _Challenge_ listed on the List of 2300 Magazine Articles, as well as all of the _Travellers' Digest_, and a few of the other Magazines listed there as having 2300 articles in them. By late 1999, I had acquired the remaining two, and now lack only the _Stardate_ and _Voyages_.
Also, now that Marc Miller's FFE (Far Future Enterprizes) has announced that 2300AD will be reprinted in book form (although we're still waiting on them, and printing was supposed to be beginning in October of 2002), you will once again be able to enjoy these older games, modules, and sourcebooks! in the meantime, you can shop from the above, if you are unwilling to wait, or purchase the eBook .PDFs.
Yes, Virginia, even if you've just learned about 2300, you can still get most or all of the out-of-print product line, through the sources listed, above! Good luck in your search, and may your collection be completed soon!
So you live in a foreign country, and don't think any American Company will ship to you, eh? Wrongo, Keebler! Crazy Egor's, The Dragon's Trove, The Gamer's Realm, Noble Knight Games, Titan Games and Wizard Games all say they will ship anywhere, and some of the others might. Send them an E-mail and ask! What have you got to lose? (I had to get two of my magazines from Sweden!)
