These tasks were prepared for Steve Hatherley's Cargo of Death adventure, based on the descriptions contained in the article, and were reviewed and approved by him.

To determine whether or not Louise Artois' story is true: Formidable. (Unskilled & Uncertain). Psychology + the higher of (DET OR INT). Absolute (Length of the interview). Referee: Success will catch the lie, while a Major Mishap will "reveal" that she is telling the truth. Superficial and Minor Mishaps will offend Louise, as she notices her word being questioned, but the PC will be uncertain of her veracity.

To determine whether or not Louise Artois is lying about her project involving water reclamation: Formidable.

To sneak into/out of the room without being noticed by the AIA agents or the cameras: Routine. (Unskilled & Hazardous). (Stealth OR Reconnaissance) + DEX. Absolute (1 action). Referee: Superficial Mishaps result in the character thinking that they MIGHT have been seen, and having to Check Determination, in order to continue. Minor Mishaps mean that one of the agents heard/noticed something, or otherwise became suspicious. Major Mishaps result in one of the agents seeing the character. Total Mishaps result in being seen, photographed, recognized, and tailed.

To notice a tail when not looking for one: Difficult. (Unknown). (Stealth, Streetwise, OR Reconnaissance) + Eyesight #. Absolute (1 action). Referee: Failure allows the tail to follow the PC without being noticed. Eyesight numbers are -1 for "Poor" eyesight, +0 for "Average", +1 for "Excellent", or +2 for "Exceptional". Since this task is Unknown, the Referee should roll it for the PC, and only inform them if the tail(s) is/are spotted. If the PC is looking for a tail, use the task, below.

To actively attempt to spot a tail: Routine. (Uncertain). (Stealth, Streetwise, OR Reconnaissance) + Eyesight # + INT. Absolute (1 action). Referee: Failures may either fail to spot a tail, or cause a character to believe that some disinterested party is a tail. See above, for Eyesight numbers.

To lose a tail: Routine: (Competitive). Character's skill level minus opponent's skill level. Absolute (1 action). Referee: This task may result when a tail is spotted and the character being followed wishes to shake them. Reconnaissance or Stealth may be used as the skill.

To calm Lousie Artois, once she knows that the antidote is a fake: Difficult. Psychology + ELO. 1 minute.

To locate all nests in a room: Routine. (Unskilled, Uncertain, & Hazardous). No assets. 1 minute. Referee: Failures mean a nest (or merely some Warriors or Mothers) were missed. Superficial Mishaps simply require more time. Minor Mishaps mean one is seen crawling away, and may be pursued. Major Mishaps result in 1D10 being seen to escape (or a mere one or two escaping unseen), while Total Mishaps result in 1D10 escaping unseen, or a nest being missed, and any unprotected searchers being infected (even protected searchers may have a stowaway on their Vacc Suit)!

To destroy a nest: Simple. (Unskilled & Uncertain). No assets. 10 seconds. Referee: Failure requires the task to be redone.

To use the sickbay and kitchen to develop a cocktail similar in effects to the medication, using the information in Louise Artois' computerized notes: Formidable. (Uncertain). Biology + Chemistry. Absolute (1D6 hours).

To build a blood filter capable of removing Warriors and Mothers: Difficult. Medicine + Mechanics. Referee: This treatment will slow down the progress of the parasitic infection, but in the end, will be ineffective.

To develop a test for infection, using the information in Louise Artois' computerized notes: Easy. Medicine OR (Biology + Chemistry). 1 minute.

To perform a total blood scrubbing, in order to remove all Warriors and Mothers: Routine. (Uncertain). Medicine. 1 minute. Referee: The ship carries only enough supplies to do this a total of (10% of Passengers + Crew) times. Any Mishaps above Superficial mean that not all Warriors/Queens were flushed.

To trace Hiram Steyr to his cabin via ship's cameras: Difficult. Computer OR Imaging. 1 minute.
