Action Angler & Outdoor Center is a destination location specializing in fishing and camping equipment. Wader rental is also available. We are currently open weekends (Open by reservation call 713-256-0128) , but offer river access 7 days a week for a $5 per person day fee. A drop box is located at the trail head.

Texas Parks and Wildlife will NOT be leasing the river access this season. Please respect private property and honor the $5 per person day fee.

Action Angler would like to send a big thank you to the fishing guides that donated their time to teach the anglers that attended this year's fly fishing event. Kevin Stubbs, Alvin Dedeaux, Dan Cone, and Banning Collins were all a huge part of the success of this year's event. We would also like to thank everyone that came out to participate in the event, and Echo, Westwater Products, and Frog Hair for the free gear for the participants.

The Guadalupe River is a cold water river that empties out from the bottom of Canyon Lake and makes an ideal habitat for trout. The state of Texas created a regulatory trout zone approximately 15 miles in length starting at Canyon Dam. Special state rules and regulations do apply in this area. It is the southernmost trout fishery in the United States and the only one in Texas that supports trout year-round. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and other organizations stock thousands of trout annually. Trout fishing is best from November through the end of March. Additionally there are other species of fish to enjoy during the warmer months like, bass, catfish, & bluegill.
