Does
your organization anticipate learning from project experiences?
Does your project work feed the stream of continuous improvement necessary to increase productivity and profitability?
We can assist teams and organizations to perform at their
highest level in several ways:
- facilitating
retrospectives
- managing implementation of retrospective outcomes
- training retrospective
facilitators in your organization
- helping you
develop an environment for learning and continuous improvement
- coaching in the use of techniques for personal retrospectives and reflection
- facilitating Open Space Technology events
Retrospectives
Sports teams watch game film; Olympic athletes review their performances; the Army performs After Action Reviews: the
retrospective process uses the past to improve the future. The ultimate goal
of a retrospective is change through learning. This learning occurs through one or more custom-planned
and facilitated sessions, which include:
- participants from across the project community
- identification of what
went well, specifically, what should be continued (Best Practices)
- identification of what should be done differently next time (Recommendations for Change)
- an action
plan for implementing the learnings
Retrospectives go beyond the typical Lessons Learned exercise.
People have reactions to their project experiences, and it is important to acknowledge that these reactions may have a significant
effect on individual as well as team work. To enhance the potential for change
from a retrospective, we embrace and address the influence of individual perceptions, values and culture on
project outcomes.
