Quadrant analysis of Bjarne Riis' 1996 (1997?) victory at the Amstel Gold World Cup race. Threshold power (and associated cadence) were estimated from data recorded during his ~50 min solo breakaway. Crank length was assumed to be 170 mm. Note the large amount of time spent pedaling in quadrants III and IV (which would tend to reduce fast twitch fiber recruitment) - this is practically a requirement, given the length of the race.
