Why
Jesus?
A man
born blind would have a great deal of trouble understanding the concept of color such as the phenomenon of a rainbow, because he’s never seen one! It’s even more difficult
to understand how to try to communicate what color is to a man born blind.
Well
in the same way, it’s difficult for man to perceive God. The Bible tells
us that when man was originally created, he was created with the following three parts:
- A
physical body
- A
soul, which is the immaterial part of man that has a personality; it has the
image of God, which is will, intellect, emotion, everlasting existence and moral reason.
- A
human spirit
The
human spirit with which man was born is the part of him that could understand God. Through
the human spirit, man originally was able to know God on a personal level - to have fellowship with Him and communicate with
Him. But man chose to go his own independent way.
And as God warned, man lost that spiritual part of his nature. He died
spiritually, and from then on all mankind has been born physically alive with a soul, but spiritually dead.
For
this reason we don’t have the kind of life that God has. We can’t
really know Him as a person. In our soul, we can know about all the evidence
that there is a God, we can know about His power, but we can’t know Him personally.
It’s only through that human spirit that we can know and understand and relate to Him personally.
This
is why Jesus said, unless a man is born again, he can not understand the kingdom of God
- he can‘t perceive it! Unless a man is born again, he can not enter the
kingdom of God. Jesus therefore said, you MUST be born again.
And that simply means that we must accept the gift of pardon that Jesus offered when He died on the cross for our sins. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. No
matter what you did, He purchased a pardon for you!
The
moment we pray and say, Lord Jesus, I accept the gift of pardon you died to give me, I confess that I am a sinner. I receive you into my life. The moment we do that, we are born spiritually! The Spirit of God
puts a new Spirit within us, and for the first time, like a man born blind looking at a rainbow, doesn’t need to have
it explained to him, you are able to know God as a person. This is a miracle;
all of us have experienced it. We can’t explain how it happened but we
know it happened.
Experience
that today. Just ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and accept the gift
of pardon he died to give you. Just say, I’m willing for you to make me
what you want me to be. And in a moment you will change your eternal destiny! For the first time you will be able to know God personally and interact with Him on
a personal level.

becoming a Christian I never understood the Bible. But once I gave my life to Christ, I was immediately able to understand
everything that I read in the Bible. The comparison of a blind man seeing the rainbow for the first time is so appropiate.
It is truly a miraculous change! A spiritual change happened in my life that not only helped me understand the Bible,
it also changed my life for the better...
