This site is old - older than the three WalMarts that are within driving distance of the old hacienda. Not that I'm
trying to give free publicity to WalMart; I'm not. I haven't been too fond of those folks ever since the manager of the
New Port Richey Sam's Club called security on me. He had been giving me a hard time about refunding the price of the gifts
my mother had sent down for Christmas when I told him I was going to tell Ma not to shop at Sam's any more.
You would have thought I had threatened to blow the place up the way he started screeching. As for me, I got the hell
out of there pronto and mailed the crap back to Jersey. Needless to say, that's why I do most of my gift shopping online.
Anyway, to get back on topic, this is a very old site. At first, it was just a place for me to display my assorted
writings.
Then, the old pool player created some pages related to the game of billiards. I actually started making some $$ via the
book and poster affiliate programs with amazon and allposters, so I branched out into t-shirts, pool cues and other billiards
equipment and accessories.
Good old American boy that I am, I figured I'd try to capitalize on my love of pro sports and I created baseball,
basketball and football pages. There visitors could buy books, posters, equipment and apparel.
And my list of web pages continued to grow:
I was doing pretty well. So well, in fact, that my isp informed me that I was exceeding the monthly traffic limits they set
for free member web pages. The penalty for such an offense would be to turn off my web pages and to keep
them off until the beginning of the next month. That prospect was scary, so I went out and purchased my own domain, www.aceswebworld.com,
and have been spending most of my time since developing web pages featuring books & authors, fine art, baseball, football, basketball,
NASCAR stock car racing, poker and pool & billiards under that banner.
Yet, my original web pages are still up and running and log a substantial amount of visits.
I've also joined the blog revolution with two entries, my pool blog
and my Tampa Bay Media Watch blog.
Welcome! I hope you enjoy your visit.
