This Week's Florida Travel Tip 1. It's time to eat. Feel like a sub sandwich? Don't waste your money on one of Subway's skimpy offerings. Go instead to the Deli Department of any Publix Super Market. There you will be able to buy a larger sandwich with more and better ingredients. If you're like me, you might want to complement your sub with a container of their potato or macaroni salad and, what the heck, a bag of chips.

 

The inspiration for this section was and is my own unhappy experience with a Florida landlord. It once was longer with links for tenants and related books, but I decided to delete them and, since I was getting so much traffic, devote the space to Florida posters.

Here's The Story RIVERMILL AT BEACON WOODS APARTMENT HOMES, Little Road, Hudson, FL, SUCKS These clowns learned via the landlord grapevine that we were looking for an apartment and phoned us while we were still living in Montana. When we explained that we would only need a place temporarily because we would be looking for a house to buy, they said that wouldn't pose a problem and that it would only cost us $100 to break the lease. They changed their tune after we traveled the 2600 miles and unloaded our furniture. They eventually kept our entire $500 deposit. They'll say anything to get you into their ghetto apartments. Description -- Buildings: Old. Grounds: Littered and covered with dog stool. Appliances: Deteriorating. Tenants: Unrestrained, Low Class, Inconsiderate. Noise Level: Extremely Noisy from apartment to apartment and, especially, from the BOOMING radios of cars that come and go at all hours. Management: Lousy. Chances of getting your security deposit back: little or none. Complainant: me. For more opinions about this complex go here.
