H. Toji &Company
Custom signage by H. Toji & Company is a Southern California tradition. From Santa Barbara To San Diego, from Santa Monica to Palm Desert, you can see our signs on office and industrial buildings, trucks and delivery vans. We have designed and fabricated just about every kind of non-electrical sign you can think of.
With the advent of the ADA in early 1992, we took a new turn. Our company now specializes in identification and wayfinding signs that follow the precepts of universal design they are easy for everyone to read. Now everyone you want to find your business or facility can. And you can rest assured that your signs follow the latest city, state and federal regulations.
Forty-five years ago our signs were hand painted. Now we generate almost everything by computer. But we are still family owned and operated and whether you want one sign or five hundred, you'll get personal attention and prompt service. We think you'll appreciate our mix of old-fashioned attention to detail and up-to-date technology.
Well designed and fabricated signs
are one of the most cost-effective advertising tools you have.

Access Communications is your resource center for ADA information on accessible signs. We provide up-to-date information on goverment regulation and codes.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has created a windstorm of activity, with many organizations searching for reliable answers to questions about ADA compliance and how it will affect them. While seminars, meetings and phone calls have helped, the answers have not always been accurate or forthcoming.
Other accessibilty accommodations, such as ramps, handrails and wider doors do not usually require a new understanding by those in the building profession. Signs are, however, a different matter. Not only are some of the requirements, such as braille, completely new to the sign profession, but the normally aesthetic considerations of typstyle, colors and surfaces now need to be understood by pople totally outside the graphics community. There has been no authoritative central resource center to turn to...until now. Now, there is an organization that addresses that need, Access Communications.

How do prospective customers get to know you? Sometime you get a chance to make your first impression face-to-face. But often clients meet you first through your signs. If the look you project is sharp, well organized and up-to-date, then the customer has reason to think that your products and your services will be of the same quality.
In this day of the ADA (and especially Title 24 if you are in California), as well as other codes such as emergency evacuation sign standards, you want to know that your designs and your entire sign system will comply. There is not a company in California, nor in the entire country, for that matter, which is more qualified to design signs and sign systems that embody the best in accessible and code compliant signage. No matter who your fabricator is, you want H. Toji to be involved in your sign and sign system design.
If you think sign design is out
of reach financially, give H. Toji Design Associates a call. Our
design fees are modest and we look upon reasonable budgets as
a challenge, not an obstacle. Our firsthand knowledge of signage
means that we can save you money by designing it right in the
first place and preparing art in the most economical way for fabrication.
