"33" is the name of the first episode of the Battlestar Galactica 2004 series.
"Flight 33" was an episode of the television show the "Twilight Zone," in which a jet airliner is trapped in a "time warp".
The landmark film, King Kong, debuted in 1933. Fay Wray also appeared in the 1933 film, The Vampire Bat. Other 1933 films released include: Alice in Wonderland, Little Women, The Power and the Glory, The Private Life of Henry VIII.
Elvis Presley appeared in 33 motion pictures, including Love Me Tender (1956), Jailhouse Rock (1957), and Follow That Dream (1962).
The magazine, Newsweek, is published for the first time in 1933.
The movie, The Fisher King, features dialogue whereby we learn that the main character discovers the goal of his spiritual mission (the "Holy Grail") on "page 33" of an architecture publication ("Progressive Architecture"?).
The first "license plate" (perhaps the first obvious numerals) to appear in the movie Deep Impact has a "33" on it.
The movie, Man Facing Southeast, employs the number 33, presumably suggesting Jesus.
The remake of the movie, Village of the Damned, places the affected town, "Midwich," at "Elev. 33."
The 2005 movie, Flightplan, features missing child "number 33."
The 2003 movie, Gothika, includes "cell block 33."
The composer, John Cage, wrote a piece of "silent" music, entitled, 4'33".
Beethoven composed Thirty-Three Variations on the theme of a Waltz in C major by A. Diabelli, Op. 120, in 1819 - 1823. Anton Diabelli, a Viennese publisher and composer, invited fifty Austrian composers to write one variation each on a theme of his waltz. Beethoven, who was among these composers, refused to take part in a collective work and wrote a separate cycle of 33 variations.
Charles Rudolf Friml (1879-1972), American composer, b. Prague. The best-known of his 33 light operas are The Firefly (1912), Rose Marie (1924), and The Vagabond King (1925).
Some other songs with references to "33" include: “33 Años” by Julio Iglesias; “21 At 33” by Elton John;“33” by Smashing Pumpkins; and “Extension 33” by Yoko Ono.
One of Jackson Pollock's paintings is entitled, "Number 33, 1949."
