other commitments.

The main purpose of this meeting is continue our planning for meetings and events for the 2003-2004 Year. Our official
visit is currently scheduled for Friday, April 30, 2004. We will also be planning a social for April 5th or 6th
for Deniz Bettencourt. It will be an opportunity for everyone to wish Deniz to get well. If you want tobe on the
call back list, call (714)832-8503. Deniz is currently recovering from his recent surgery (I am uncertain of the
details). Deniz has supported a lot of local Portuguese groups. It will be an opportunty for all of us to show
our support for Deniz.

to work. We will have a pot luck, meeting and gift exchange ( $5 gift, something you yourself would like ). We
expect our usual number of members of from 6 - 15. So if you bring something to add to the pot luck, think small.
We will be providing: chicken, bread, salads, a small cake, and coffee.

The main purpose of this meeting is to celebrate the Christmas season amongst our members, and continue our planning
for meetings and events for the 2003-2004 Year. Our official visit is currently scheduled for Friday, April 30,
2004. The next meeting has also been scheduled. on January 20th, 2004.

We are also planning a raffle.
Items for the raffle are welcome.
There will be some very good Bacalhau, (or chicken)
along with some exelent side dishes and desert.
Please Contact Council Secretary for more information.
Directions from the North: South on 5 Freeway, to South 605 Freeway, to East 91 Freeway,
to South on Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, to Ashworth (turn left).
From the East and South: North on 5 Freeway, to West 91 Freeway, to South on Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, to Ashworth
(turn left). Look for small blue signs that say "Portuguese hall".
For long distance travelers, come early and get comfortable, in case you beat the traffic. There are benches outside
and some inside seating will be available after 5 pm. The regular social starts at 6:30 pm. Also AM Radio frequency
1070 and 980 have traffic information every few minutes.
