Upcoming Events.........
On July 12, 2005 an annual award was established
in Emmett Ashford's
name at an inaugural luncheon at the DELTA KING in Old Sacramento. The award will go to the top amateur/ youth umpires. The award was established by judges and umpires,
both of whom "play by the rules". An original painting of Emmett Ashford by Terry Flanigan was revealed. The first of these awards was bestowed upon Mike Demitilo on June 5, 2007.....in Sacramento, California @

Emmett Ashford , a second time nominee,
has been elected to the Baseball Reliquary's Shrine of the Eternals. The induction ceremony will take place on July
20, 2008 at the Central Library in Pasadena California.
CAHPERD (California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation
and Dance) continues to confer the Emmett Ashford Community Spirit Award .
The last recipient was Lady Walquer-Vereen in 2006.
