Upcoming/ Current Events.........
Goal: to have Emmett Ashford inducted into the Major League
Baseball Hall of Fame. The Emmett Ashford Society now
has a page on Facebook.. Letters are being sent to the Veteran's Committee of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown,
New York. More details and activities to come.

Kudos and Wins........
On July 12, 2005 an annual award was established in
Emmett Ashford's
name at an inaugural luncheon at the DELTA KING in Old Sacramento.
The award will go to the top amateur/ youth umpires. The award was established by judges and umpires, both of whom "play
by the rules". An original painting of Emmett Ashford by Terry Flanigan was revealed. The first of these awards was
bestowed upon Mike Demitilo on June 5, 2007.....in Sacramento, California @ Raley Field!
Emmett Ashford , a second time nominee, has been
elected to the Baseball Reliquary's Shrine of the Eternals. The induction ceremony took place on July 20, 2008 at the
Central Library in Pasadena California.
CAHPERD (California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance)
continues to confer the Emmett Ashford Community Spirit Award in the Spring . The 2009
recipient was Rudy Benton.
Emmett Ashford was honored during the LA Sparks game on
