Renaissance Music

Anyone who has been to a renaissance faire or a medieval banquet can describe to you the wonderful lilting tunes played on the flute, harp or hammered dulcimer. Many of these tunes can be recognized and appreciated by generations both young and old. Folk songs, ballads, drinking songs and instrumentals are the range of songs played.

Many are old English and Celtic tunes, simple music for a simpler time. Here are a few sites that may tempt you to explore the culture of renaissance music. Many of these musicians and actors are also involved in renaissance faires and other cultural activities.
