We drove to Carlsbad
CA where Amy’s parent live for the week of Thanksgiving. We parked the
motorhome in front of their house arriving late the Friday before Thanksgiving.
Scott & Lori, Amy’s brother & sister–in-law, and
their
family arrived Saturday morning from Denver. Anna is 5 yrs old and Amber
is 14 yrs old.
On Saturday we didn’t do much since everyone had driven the day/night before to arrive.
Sunday we all went to Coronado for a visit to the Southwest Indian Den – Mom & Dad’s favorite Native American store. We snacked on fries and shakes while walking around the shopping area. Anna got her first watch – a bright lime green rugrat watch. On the way home Scott, Lori, Jim & I rode up the P(acific)C(oast)H(ighway) taking in the sights. The girls rode with Mom & Dad. We went to Claim Jumpers for supper.
Monday Mom &
I took the girls shopping for school clothes which turned into an all day
affair. We scoured theoutlet
mall
and the shopping mall before finding everything we needed, not to mention
the things we bought that we didn’t need. Mom & I sure were exhausted
by the time we got back home. While we were shopping Dad took Jim to Fry’s
– an electronic store.
On Wednesday Jim snuck back down to Coronado to pick up a BearCloud painting Mom had on layaway for Dad.
Thursday we all
spent the day cooking. Amy’s cousin, Kelly, drove down to join us all for
the holiday. We had a fried turkey, a smoked turkey, cornbread sausage
stuffing, sweet potato casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, and desserts.
After eating supper, but before eating dessert we exchanged our Christmas/Hanukah
gifts. Kelly
spent
the night in the motorhome with us.
Friday Dad’s cousins Lou & Wendy drove down for a visit. It was nice to see Lou again and to finally meet Wendy. We didn’t have much time to talk and will have to get together again next time we’re out that way. We left to drive back to Caddo Mills TX later in the afternoon.
