I had so much fun in Sedona with my Mom that Jim and I decided to Sedona for a weekend. Since he's still working in Miami, he flew into Phoenix late Thursday night and we drove to Sedona early Friday morning. I got us reservations at Rancho Sedona ... the campground is extremely shaded with the motorhome parking in the trees and Oak Creek runs down the edge of the property - it's now one of our favorite campgrounds.
We spent Friday afternoon at the lookouts on Airport Road and then shopping in town. For dinner we went to Casa Rincon and had a great Mexican meal. After dinner we took the dogs for a swim in Oak Creek.

Saturday we went to the Frank Lloyd Wright cathedral. It was very interesting
to see a
cathedral built down into the rock. The gift shop in the basement
has a good variety of pictures of the Sedona area. Then we picked
up the dogs and took a drive up Schnebly Hill Road ... where the jeep tours
go. The Honda CRV did great on the bumpy road and we had a great time taking
in the sights at our own pace. We had taken the Pink Jeep tour a few
years ago when we visited Sedona. We found an Indian ceremonial ground
with the circle of small rocks on top of one of the rock plateaus.
We cooked dinner at home and then took a drive out to Cathedral Rock.

Sunday morning we left early to get back to Phoenix so Jim could catch a noon flight back to Miami.
