ABAKAN was begun in 1971 with Mischa of Baymar's litter with Saint Nicholas Ryce.
Mischa and her daughter, Chata, pulled me many miles on the bicycle
or on my 5-year-old son's Irish Mail. Mischa was bred two  more times:  
once to Ch. Valadimir of Elmfield, producing Maggie(below), 
 and once to Belaya Buccaneer(a Ch. Kondako's Sun Dancer son),
producing Abakan Buckskin Quinn(below). 
The breeding of Maggie and Quinn and the ensuing litter which resulted
in Speaker(below) was the real foundation for ABAKAN.
