------------------------------------------------------------------------ Torments of Hell Newsgroups: alt.devilbunnies From: adm4@po.cwru.edu (Aaron Mandelbaum) Message-ID: Date: Sun, 30 Apr 1995 06:02:31 GMT Organization: CWRU The squirrels cut him loose after making him swear a solemn oath not to attack them, or try to escape. Aaron wandered all around the prison, but there were no exits more than a foot across. And while killing the squirrels came to mind from time to time, it really wouldn't accomplish anything. Not to mention that then he'd never find out what the hell was going on. So, as he sat down to yet another meal of Doritos and Snapple (that was all the squirrels would bring him), watching Sylvie embarrass herself all over the net, while the other squirrels chittered randomly from the corners (he couldn't catch anything they were saying, he'd never been very good at languages, and he was even worse at squirrel than at russian), he contemplated how long it would take before he died of scurvy. 'Cause it didn't look like he was getting out, and the squirrels didn't seem to be going anywhere with this silly treatment thing. He checked his watch. April 30th. God, it had been less than a week! Seemed more like months... That was when the bunny hopped up. Aaron spit out his mouthful of pink lemonade and yelped. He looked around, but the squirrels seemed glad to see it. "Shit," he thought, "They sold out. I'm doomed." "You bastards," he said, "You sold out, didn't you! What did they give you, Sylvie, to turn against your own kind?" Sylvie turned to him and made shushing motions, then [flick]ed her tail. "They didn't need to give me anything," she snapped, "I looked at you, and I looked at them, and the choice was clear." Then she winked. Winked? Sylvie turned back to the bunny. "But he'll understand soon enough. Did you bring it?" "The best," the bunny replied, fluffing proudly, "Fast-acting, completely resistant-- "Are you sure no one else knows of this place? Secrecy is essential." "I didn't tell anyone, [ruffle] Although I don't know why you didn't want me to tell the Mentat. [wiggle]" "We have out reasons. [flick] Leave it here, and we'll take care of the rest. [flick!]" The bunny dropped a packet and left, muttering to himself. "Follow him and kill him," Sylvie ordered once the bunny was out of earshot. Five squirrels grabbed their lasers and scurried out after him. "I didn't turn to the bunnies, Aaron. But I needed their help." "For what?" "You'll thank me when it's over," she said. "When you're well again. I can't expect you to understand now." Aaron shivered. There were very few things that the squirrels would need from the bunnies... and this talk of a 'cure' was not reassuring in the least. Whatever they intended, though, it wasn't going to happen without a fight. -- Aaron Mandelbaum ("Oooooooo, let me out!") ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Usenet Web 1.0.3 (development) / webmaster@netimages.com
