History and Background
The Monterey Bay Chapter 191 was established in 1996.  The purpose of the Chapter is to foster
fellowship and good operating practices among Radio Amateurs (HAMS) in the Monterey Bay
region.  Members are Radio Amateurs who have been licensed at least 25 years.

QCWA hams provide technical guidance and "Elmer" (mentoring) services to other amateur radio operators.
We are active in the Volunteer Licensing System run for the FCC by the  National Council of Volunteer
Examiners.  We also participate in emergency communications exercises to stay prepared for emergency
communications duties with the following organizations:
