Welcome to 34 Trotting Park Road, a 2-Bedroom Unit

The Seaside Escape

This restful, seashell-themed master bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed, an end table with lamp and alarm clock, and a mirrored bureau.  Four pillows, a cotton mattress pad, a vinyl mattress protector, a queen-sized comforter, dust ruffle, pillow shams, and spare blankets are provided.  Extra bedding is stored in plastic containers under the bed and in the closet.  The windows of this room are dressed with matching curtains and adjustable blinds.  A ceiling fan and portable electric heater is provided for temperature control.  Guests should bring their own pillowcases and queen-sized sheets to this Seaside Escape.

The Captain’s Quarters

This room is decorated with nautical objects and is occupied by a portrait of  “The Captain” himself.   It is furnished with two twin beds, an end table, two lamps, an alarm clock, a mirrored bureau, and a comfortable chair.  Each bed has two pillows, a waterproof mattress protector, cotton mattress pad, a twin-sized bedspread, a comforter, and spare blankets.  Spare bedding is stored in plastic containers under the beds and in the closet on the right.   A ceiling fan and portable electric heater is provided.   The windows of this room have curtains and adjustable blinds.   Guests bunking in The Captain’s Quarters should bring their own pillowcases and two sets of twin sized sheets.

Full Bath

The scallop-themed bath is decorated with a shower curtain, liner, rubber bath mat and matching accessories.  Renters should bring their own bath towels, hand towels, face clothes, beach towels, toilet paper, tissues, and toiletries.  Don’t forget beach and tub toys for the kids!   ;-)

Kitchen

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses, flatware, baking and cookware, including a large lobster pot (sorry, lobster not included)!   Appliances include a gas stove, small microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, and automatic drip coffee pot.   Guests should bring their own food, dishtowels, and paper goods such as trash bags and paper towels.   A portable electric heater is located in the kitchen.

Living Room / Dinette

The main living area is furnished with a sleeper sofa, loveseat, TV, two end tables with lamps, and a “lobster pot” coffee table.  Guests should bring their own pillowcases and queen-sized sheets to sleep on the sofa bed; extra bedding is stored in the bedrooms.   The fireplace is in working condition.   Please remember to open the damper before use.  The dining table comfortably seats four.    A portable electric heater is provided, but the heater on the outer wall is just a “decoration” so don’t bother turning it on.

Communications Information

The TV has cable and plays video tapes.  An AM/FM radio with CD player located is in the kitchen.   Renters should bring their own CDs and/or video tapes.  Landline phone access is not available; please bring a cell phone with you if you want phone access.   Wireless high-speed Internet access with Comcast is available.  If you want wireless access,  please let Andy know in advance so he can arrange to let you into the wireless network and bring your own laptop computer with a wireless card.

Utilities and Safety

The master electrical box (circuit breakers) is in the kitchen.   Spare fuses are in the “junk drawer” directly below the box.  A fire extinguisher is installed on the wall of the closet in the bathroom.  The lighter for starting the fireplace and/or gas grill is stored above the kitchen sink (out of children’s reach).  A nightlight is on the wall near the dining room table.

Other Important Information

NO PETS and NO SMOKING!

“Beach blankets” are stored in a clearly marked plastic container in the “Seaside Escape” bedroom closet.   Please do not use any of the other bedding at the beach or outside.

Each side of the duplex has its own gas grill and picnic table in the back yard for outdoor dining.  Do not burn charcoal in the gas grill because it will ruin the grill.  A plastic tablecloth for the picnic table and grilling utensils are stored in the kitchen.

To protect the septic system, do not flush tampons, “disposable” tampon applicators, or feminine napkins down the toilet.  Do not dispose of cooking grease in the kitchen sink.  Please wash any beach sand off in the outdoor shower before using the indoor shower/tub.

The dining room  tabletop will crack if exposed to extreme heat so do not place hot items directly on the glass tabletop.  Please place pot holders under any hot items on the dining table.

Please do not leave portable electric heaters running unattended.

The power cord to the radio that is on the fridge easily  pulls out of the wall outlet; and that outlet is difficult to access behind the fridge.   So please do not remove the radio from the top of the fridge.

Leaving the Property at the End of Your Vacation

Check-out time is at 9 a.m.  The owners will clean, but guests are expected to wash any dishes they dirty.  Please bag up any trash, and leave it in the buckets in the backyard.

Drop the keys in the mail at your earliest convenience.

Enjoy your vacation!!!
