Some of the Costumes for
A Christmas Carol
Curtain Call
I was very fortunate to be chosen to design the costumes for the inaugural production at Richard Garriot's Curtain Theatre, a reproduction of the famous Globe Theatre. Charles Dickens'A Christmas Carol was chosen to be the first play performed. The opening night performance formed the first part of an elaborate Victorian costume party produced by Extravagant Occasions, Garriot's personal party planning service. Because the play was performed as part of this party, the director chose to have the costumes designed in accordance with the Early Bustle period of Victorian England, rather than in the styles prevalent in 1843 when the story was originally written. Pictures from the play and some pictures of individual costumes are presented below.
