     Henry Welbourne appeared on the census of 1841 at Borough Up(?), Ludford Magna, Lincolnshire, England; living in the household of Albard Babcook.4 He immigrated in 1851.5 The following military service records appear to be for "my" Henry Welbourne, but I've yet to determine how I can know for sure. In 1860.6 He began military service on 16 August 1861 at Walshville, Illinois, Company "L", 3rd Illinois Cavalry.6 He ended military service on 5 September 1864 at Walshville, Illinois.6 He was a farmer.7 Personal property of Henry Welbourne was valued at $710.7 Real Property of Henry Welbourne was valued at $5,000.7
     Henry Welbourne was listed on 15 September 1870 as the head of a family on the 1870 census Lenox, Iowa, Iowa. The official date for this census was 01 June 1870.7
     Henry Welbourne was listed as a farm hand of an unknown person on the 1880 Census Lenox, Taylor, Iowa, in 1880.8
