13 On the 5th of May 1903, Mary filed for homestead of R20W (Indian Meridian) T4N, the NE1/4 NE1/4 of Sec 3 and NW1/4 NW1/4 of Sec 2, containing 72.96 acres. In her own homestead testimony Mary states she has 4 children, is a widow and is unmarried. She states she resided continuously on her land since September 5, 1903 when a frame house, 14ft x 14 ft, was built and a well, and 2 acres were broken and fenced. She valued the improvements at $150.
13 Mary published her notice to make final proof in support of her claim in the Roosevelt Record, a Kiowa County weekly newspaper. She published for five consecutive weeks beginning Sept 16, 1904 and ending October 14, 1904.
13 On Oct 18, 1904, Mary F. Sullivan submitted final proof on Lot 8 Sec 2 and Lot 13 Sec 3, Twsp 4 N Range 20 W.
13 Mary was listed as "unmarried" by Mary S. Settles, 32, of Lone Wolf, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, who testified on her behalf for proof of homestead on October 18, 1904 at Snyder, Kiowa, Oklahoma. Others who offered testimony were James W. Settles, 34, of Lone Wolf, Jno. C. Settles of Mangum and Luella Allen of Lone Wolf.
13 As of 21 October 1904, Mary Francis Moore lived at
Kiowa, Oklahoma as stated on a document where she paid $95.79 for Lot 8 Section 2 and Lot 13, Section 3 in Township 4N and Range 20W, Indian Meridian.
13 The cover of her homestead papers says it was approved February 17, 1905 and patented April 5, 1905.
13 She applied for a homestead located at Range 20W, Township 4N, Section 10, the SE1/4SW1/4, containing 40 acres. She listed her address as Delhi, Greer County, Oklahoma. A note in the margin written by the register said "This application is allowed and perfected this Aug. 30, 1905."
14 She signed a "Non-Saline Affidavit" stating there was no "salt spring, or deposits of salt in any form" on her property. The document was witnessed by J. C. Settles. On 24 April 1905.
14 As of 24 April 1905, Mary Francis Moore lived in
Delhi, Beckham, Oklahoma.14 She identified herself as "The head of a family and more than twenty-one years of age, a widow, which was crossed out and followed by, a single woman."...And then "I have not heretofore made any entry under the homestead laws, except filed on Lots 3 & 4 Sec 2 T4N R20W. That I commuted the same oct 18, 1904 at Lawton, O.T. land office." This was signed at Mangum, Greer, Oklahoma on the 24th of April, 1905.
14 As of 30 August 1905, Mary Francis Moore lived in
Delhi, Beckham, Oklahoma.14 A letter from the Department of the Interior stated that the "Homestead application No. 11996, by Mary F. Sullivan of Delhi, Oklahoma, is for the SE1/4 SW1/4 Sec. 10, T. 4N., R 20W., I.M., whereas the receipt describes the land as Lot 6, Sec. 2, T.2 N., R. 18W. Ihave by a foot note corrected...and correct the same and your records if necessary, to agree with said application." On 2 January 1906.
14 Mary Francis Moore sold the land owned in 9 March 1906 She relinquished the property described as the SE1/4 SW1/4 of Section 10, Township 4N, and Range 20W on the 9th of March 1906 at 9:45 A.M.
